Construction
This part of my website shows you how I have gone about building my layout. It covers aspects of building the baseboard and basic shape of the model landscape, putting trackwork together and modifying track to fit the layout and how I created buildings for my layout.

April
I started this month off with making the basic shape of the valley using chicken wire. I began putting the chicken wire on at the reservoir end of the layout and moved down to the town end but I ran out of chicken wire. I have started to build Flaxengate station out of wood and cardboard.
March
I have spent most of this month building the two tunnels at the reservior end of the layout.February
I have spent most of this month putting facia boards on the layout. These are boards which are put on the side of a layout and follow the profile of the scenery. I have also created a control board which will house sockets in which I can plug my controllers into.
January
So far this month I have laid all of the track except for the sidings in the town and painted all of the rails rust colour.
December
So far I haven't really done anything.
November
At the beggining of November I bought some setrack points 4 LH and 1 RH point. At the end of november I bought 3 lengths of flexi track and layed these in the town area with the points.
October
In October I went on cutting out and making formers for the layout to create the valley profile. After this I went on to completing the rest of the trackbed for the whole of the layout. To then end of October I created a bridge based on Stamp End Bridge in Lincoln.
September
Early in this month I started looking through boxes to see what material I already had for construction of the layout. By the middle of September I had bought the materials required and built the baseboard. At the end of the month I had made the trackbed for the town end of the layout.
August
In August the layouts construction had not even started though a trackplan was created and refined. By the end of August I had a final trackplan and I was starting to think about how I was going to start to build it.
